Last night, following the Nomination Meeting, Senatorial
Candidates met to agree on Hustings. The Greffe had tentatively suggested 4
super meetings in larger venues in locations across the island. This was firmly
rejected by candidates and it was decided to stick to the traditional meetings
in each of the twelve parishes.
I stressed the need for these meetings be considered as secular events as there have
been occasions when they have been treated by Constables like Parish Meetings
and begun with religious prayers. Essentially these would be generic election meetings located in the
various parish halls.
The dates of Hustings are set out below. The meetings will
begin at 7.30pm and finish around 9.30pm. Candidates will speak for 3 minutes.
Questions will follow, taken in pairs, with the candidate allowed 2 minutes to
answer.

Its going to be a hectic few weeks! But I am used to that and relish the thrill of the chase.
